Neuroscience courses
Neuroscience for Therapists is a CPD course for qualified counsellors and therapists of any orientation who are currently practicing. The aim is to present relevant and interesting areas of neuroscience, and to support participants in applying this new understanding of brain and body to their work. It is held over nine Saturday seminars spread across the year.
I first ran this course in 2011. It’s based on my 2020 book, updated with fresh material, and is still the only comprehensive course on the subject in the UK, so far as I am aware. The pandemic sent the course into an online format which I am continuing with so that counsellors and therapists anywhere in the UK can participate. The group size is limited to encourage participation and discussion.
I am not running this course in 2023, but am happy to do presentations and seminars on any of the topics it covers. Here are the details of the 2022 edition - click on a button to display the document which will download in a new window or tab:
Some feedback from participants on previous courses:
“I am very admiring of what you have done in this book/course in integrating such a vast and complex subject and making it so digestible and approachable and useful.”
“I learnt so much from your course and I use all the knowledge in my practice today so thank you.”
“I found the clear explanation of very complex processes extremely helpful. I also found the link between theory and clinical examples very good and this brought it all to life!”
“I find that clients are very appreciative of and interested in this neuroscience input.”
“The course has opened a whole new realm of knowledge for me that I didn’t realise how much I was missing but feel so much more solid for what I am now slowly integrating from it.”
